Growing up can bring emotional and relational challenges that are not always easy for children and young people to understand or put into words. These difficulties often present themselves as changes in mood or behaviour, at school, in friendships or within family life. Psychotherapy offers a supportive space to explore what may be happening beneath the surface and to begin making sense of difficult feelings and experiences.
I meet each child or young person with empathy and curiosity, working at a pace that feels manageable for them. My approach is trauma-informed and relational, with an emphasis on emotional safety, collaboration and attunement to each child's individual needs.
Therapy may involve talking, as well as creative forms of expression such as play, art and metaphor. Every child is different, and I adapt the way we work according to their age, developmental stage and what feels most helpful for them. Psychotherapy can also help children develop ways of managing stress and difficult emotions, while supporting greater confidence, resilience and self-understanding.
Parents and caregivers are an important part of the therapeutic process. I work collaboratively with parents where appropriate, creating opportunities to think together about their child's needs and development, while also respecting the young person's privacy and the importance of their individual therapeutic space.

I have experience working as a psychotherapist in both primary and secondary schools and continue to receive referrals into my private practice. Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I spent over ten years delivering wellbeing programmes for children and young people through yoga and mindfulness. This experience continues to inform my work, particularly in offering practical, body-based tools that can help children manage stress, regulate difficult emotions and feel more grounded.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a Consultant Psychotherapist for organisations including Portobello Behavioural Health (PBH) and Harbor. I am also connected to a trusted network of professionals and can facilitate referrals to specialists, including psychiatrists, when additional support may be helpful.
